Grimble
If I could give this book negative stars, I really would.Note: I actually read the german edition of this book. It is published by Fischer Taschenbuch Verlag, Frankfurt am Main, in Oktober 2010.
I read this book repeatedly when I was in primary school. We always had to have a book from the school library that we were reading and I just kept taking the same book out, which was this. I'm not surprised they don't print it anymore: a child whose parents have left him home alone and left him notes telling him to go off and speak to weird strangers. Just the kind of inappropriate thing you love when you are a kid. I loved it!

Just read over Grimble again after some years. I was looking for something to record and send to my grand-children to see how they'd react to a story written in a different age and world.Grimble is the story of a quirky young boy who has parents who go away a lot and leave him notes about what to do and where things are. It's very much a glimpse into the different perspectives of child and adult, if taken at a deeper level, however it's just good fun on the surface and should certainly appeal to
One of the best books I've read in my life. It's about freedom. A child's freedom.

Love it.Present Out Of Books Grimble
