Appraise Out Of Books The Tangled Thread (Morland Dynasty #10)

#10 in the series. Revolution in France. I liked these characters so much that I started #11 as soon as I finished to find out what happens to them. This one left me feeling angry at what the female characters sometimes put up with because of their "sense of duty." Arg! ... oh & I've decided I will no longer read the blurbs on the backs of Morland Dynasty books until after I've read the books. They give too much away!

I didn't enjoy this tenth installment as much as previous novels in the series. Cynthia Harrod-Eagles has obviously researched her subject well but I found that some of the details of the French Revolution were a little meaningless to me. However I still became involved with the lives of the characters and want to know what happens to them next. As usual the end of this novel leaves many questions unanswered so I shall be looking out for the eleventh in the series before too long.

I totally agree with another reviewer - don't read the blurb on the back or the family tree because major plot points get revealed. Other than that, this was an enjoyable read --- when Harrod-eagles gets too deep in the history, she is able to pull back and focus on the foibles of the Morland family. I liked this one.
