Evaluate Epithetical Books Dirty Secrets (Romantic Suspense #4.5)
In St Petersburg, Florida, a grad student is found dead in the lab and appears to be a suicide at first. Professor Chris Walker isn't convinced but cannot figure out who could have done such a thing. Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Emma Townsend is finally getting around to go through her deceased husband's things and finds her old high school year book. Inside is a letter she never saw, written by Chris Walker. She feels a need to contact him to let him know. But her journey to see Chris puts

Read this over the weekend--Fast paced thriller. As I've said before, Karen Rose grabs me from the first sentence. Her characters are so alive, and the suspense is hold your breath scary.

Another short story by Karen Rose. I decided to read this one because I was planning to read her latest book and discovered that some of these characters would appear there. I did enjoy the mystery part, even of I did discover the culprit fairly soon, and I did like Emma and Chris a lot.The action bits I wasn't as enthusiastic about. I think Rose's writing nowadays is smoother and better at mixing romance, suspense and action. I was annoyed with Megan and that personal aspect of Chris's life but

I enjoyed this book but it didn't live up to the previous books in series. I just had a really hard time with Christoper wanting to jump right into sex with Emma after 17 years. He didn't just want her but couldn't live without having her and now! So much happened in the years they were apart I would have enjoyed a slower build - more friends to lovers instead of the insta lust that lead to insta love. My other issue was that the "bad guy" was painfully obvious (although I couldn't figure out

True to Karen Rose form, it contains murder, suspense and a healthy dose of romance, despite being such a short story. A nice quick read on a rainy Sunday.

A quick and easy novella, which gives us a taste of characters Karen Rose is developing for her next full length book. I have not read a Karen Rose book for a while and enjoyed how quickly I could skip through this but still get a feel for the characters. It is very hard to fully develop in such a short space. But I will be looking for other Karen Rose books again.
