Chapter Ten

WHAT WE BECOME

You’re some brilliant scientist – working for the government – and you wear a mullet?

Rick’s group have a clear destination, but one thing is to know where to head to, and another is being able to reach there.

And if you think that a bunch of zombies were dangerous, just wait for a dang herd!

Zillions of zombies!!!

You better start running!!!

Do you remember good old Morgan from the first chapter and also starring a Christmas Special?

Well, his Christmas became a living ( or more accurate) a dead Halloween, a walking dead Halloween. And with nothing to lose, and...

...he will be part of Rick’s group.

And as I told you before, zombies are easy to understand, people not so much, and in this dystopian crazy world,...

...kids are no longer really kids anymore.

Criticism Based On Books The Walking Dead, Vol. 10: What We Become (The Walking Dead (Collected Editions) #10)

This is much better than the last book, worth waiting for. The artwork even seems better. There's still too much Rick action, but at least characters have begun to question: why are we following this guy? There is an interesting tangent of how exactly the children are being affected by the way they live; Carl wants to help his father kill someone, one of the twins (do they have names?) mutilates cats for a good time, but it isn't explored too much. Maybe the next book, since this series will

This was all very introspective, Rick and Abraham spilling the beans to each other and realising just how similar they are. In order to survive theyve both become monsters; they know it too, and theyre at war with themselves. They know what theyve become and they hate the necessity of it. Its a simple case of kill or be killed. This famous line seems more appropriate than ever: Rick also turned a new corner. We all know that he is brutal and strong, but that act was something else. Kirkman is a great writer, and he really shines in this installment. We get some really interesting new characters, one of which is a scientist who claims to be on a mission to Washington DC. He also claims to know exactly what has caused the dead to rise & may even know how to solve the catastrophic problem. Oh man, I'm lovin this series!

WrensReads Review:So some interesting things happened in this volume.First, you see that Rick and Abraham are either going to absolutely hate each other and probably kill each other, or they are going to both go mad holding hands and be best friends. Hot and cold with these two. Their personalities are both dominating ones, so they aren't getting along all that well. You also get to learn a little more about Abraham's past and why he is the way he is. Like what happened to his family; which, as

Decent continuation of the series that spends time building some of the support characters - Abraham especially - at the expense of further action scenes. The first look at a large horde and the reintroduction of an old familiar face all worked well, but it was the apparent death of a long-time early in this volume and then the events that transpired in the last issue that really surprised (though the former issue was somewhat lame in how it was eventually handled). In short, as reliable as the

Ah well, it had to happen after the excitement of the Governor storyline and the new direction of the series in the last book, Volume 10 of The Walking Dead sees the plot slowing down, almost as if theyre taking stock of everything thats happened, and its a bit of a snoozer. It also weirdly feels like a throwback volume to the kind we got pre-Governor, ie. the bad old days. Rick and the handful of survivors from the original group, including his son Carl, have joined some new characters led by
