Commentary In Pursuance Of Books Make A Joyful Sound: The Romance of Mabel Hubbard and Alexander Graham Bell
I came away from this book completely blown away by the impressive personages of Alexander Bell and Mabel Hubbard. They were both incredible people.I do think a biographical novel could be written with a lot more insight into their individual personalities, feelings, and relationship. Their story begs to be told with a lot more introspection and imagination.
I do love how the author wove the characters' own words into the story, but I would have liked a bibliography at the end that shows the primary source documents. She mentions letters and diaries but nothing specific.

I toured the Bell estate in Florida and picked up this book thinking I already knew a lot, but didn't know Mrs.Bell was deaf, brilliant, and instrumental in Mr. Bells inventions.
An excellent biography of Alexander Graham Bell and his wife Mabel Hubbard. I really enjoyed this biography and after I was done I felt a greater respect for Mr. and Mrs. Belle. I realized that I didn't know everything he had invented. He was an amazing man. His wife was deaf and that had a great part in his work for the hearing impaired. An intimate look at his genius, family life, work and his remarkable wife that had so much to do with his success. This book is based upon the official records
Not an easy read. Took a while to read, but well worth it. very interesting and a lot of information I never knew about A G Bell.I toured the Bell estate in Florida and picked up this book thinking I already knew a lot, but didn't know Mrs.Bell was deaf, brilliant, and instrumental in Mr. Bells inventions.
