Narration Supposing Books Life, Interrupted
To start with this seemed very "Jacqueline Wilson" but aimed at a slightly older and less feminine reader. In my opinion it is better written than any of the Wilson books I have read and the characters much more likeable. The story follows Luke and his football-mad younger brother, Jesse, as they deal with their mother's illness. In places the plot is quite predictable but some times it it refreshingly surprising. It deals well with the emotions of the ordeal - especially as the main characters are boys - although in places I felt more depth was needed.

A book which deals with themes of loss and connection. A good balance of the serious and not so serious - great for the age group it's pitched at. Very entertaining and engaging - and obviously sad a times.
Very raw and enjoyable, but occasionally slow, hence the slightly lower rating.
