Description Supposing Books The End of the World (Skulduggery Pleasant #6.5)
Skulduggery and Valkyrie are back, in an exclusive World Book Day novelette, set after the momentous events of Death Bringer…Hey, punks! Skulduggery and Valkyrie are about to make your day…
15-year-old Ryan is running away from home, looking for escape and adventure. But unfortunately, sometimes people DO get what they wish for. Ryan hasn’t gone far before he is set upon by a bunch of scary, nihilistic punk-sorcerers who need him to set off a doomsday device that will destroy the planet and everyone on it. Fun!
Riding to the rescue, however, is a certain skeleton detective and his teenage partner/combat accessory. Now Skulduggery and Valkyrie only have a few hours to figure out what's going on, while saving Ryan and – incidentally – the whole world.
And all that time, the punk-sorcerors are closing in…

Landy continues to amuse me with his wit and spot on characterization of what it is like being a teenage girl. This book was written for World Book Day, and I think it is fairly obvious in the writing it was not intended to be part of the main series. When reading this, understand it is more about getting to see additonal interactions between Skulduggery and Valkyrie rather than the quality of the plot. However, I have no complaints about the content due to my love for both characters.Classic Skullduggery humor. Laugh out loud read...briefly dying....!
This was a really fun side story and just what I needed after my China heartache and bad blood towards Val and Skullduggury aftee Death Bringer. Sad twist at the end, but really enjoyable.

We dont talk about vampires. Wasnt convinced by the end but otherwise a good read.
I love that even in a novella length story Derek Landy can make me laugh out loud, hold my breath during fight scenes, and still surprise me!
How very sad. I do wish Ryan had ended up being real
