The vampire sects are at war - and war among vampires is fought not with weapons, but with minds. My name is Ariella Montero, and I know a secret. Telling it will change everything.
Half-human and half-vampire, Ari confronts the darker sides of vampirism, and herself, as the sects deploy new technologies to battle for influence and power.
But beyond these challenges lie greater risks: Ari's relationship with Neil Cameron, the first vampire to run for the U.S. presidency, must be kept under wraps from even those she trusts most. When scandal inevitably erupts, Ari is forced to face the consequences of her actions, learning the hard way that love demands delicate negotiations between memory and desire.

Third in the series of An Ethical Vampire Novel, Ari, half human and half vampire, wants to take Septimal, an injection that can make a vampire older. Since Ari was turned at 13, she yearns to look as old as she feels. But Dr. Roche is not who he seems and Ari is forced to take the consequences of her actions. Scandal erupts in polictal circles and the COVE (The Council On Vampire Ethics)must intervine. Overall a good read.A fun book, but a little frustrating in so far as things that should be more meaningful aren't and things that are only very poorly explained (if at all) become central to the story. Also, if I were ever fortunate enough to have Susan Hubbard's ear I would need to ask, on behalf of her readers everywhere, why when you have invented a world in which clothing made of meta-materials can render its wearer invisible wouldn't the parents who give their otherwise forgetful child a protective amulet
Go ahead. Rip my heart out, throw it on the ground, and stomp on it. It couldnt make me feel any worse than I did when I finished this book. Dont get me wrong, I loved the book, but I so wanted Ari and Cameron to have their HEA, However, too many vamps and humans played politics with their hearts and they were both left feeling hurt and betrayed, neither ever knowing the complete truth. Even though I enjoyed Sloan as a diversion, Cameron captured my allegiance right away. What about the age

Just as dreamy and introspective as the first two books, the Ethical Vampire series is a quiet and satisfying one. I think this was my favorite so far and I look forward to any more that Hubbard provides.
Does anyone know if/when a 4th book in the series will be out? Loved this series, wish it didn't just stop!

I found this book slow to start, and once it began to move along and get interesting, it was so poorly explained and so complicated that I just got totally confused. Definitely not as good as the books before it in the series, but still an okay read
